Gabriela is a Mozambican singer
Gabriela grew and studied in a typically Portuguese environment, but Mozambique always was close to her day by day. While only 12, her passion for music grew as she was in the choral group of the Portuguese school she attended. She participated in some competitions which launched her into the world of music.
In 2000, Gabriela was named the revelation with her album “Cem por Cento Amor e Paixão”, during the Radio Moçambique program, Ngoma Moçambique.
In 2005, the same program honoured her with “Best Marrabenta of the Year”, with her song “Mina na Wena”. She had worked with Angolan producer, Yeye, who lives in Moçambique.
Her third album, “Mais Gabriela”, is her most recent with tracks like Mozambique and Longa Estrada, which was a tribute to Mozambican track star, Maria Mutola. The new album chas aspects of modern and classic music, with of Pop Rock, R& B and Soul.
She was also invited to participate in the film “Quero ser uma Estrela”, by the Portuguese producer Jose Carlos de Oliveira, which also features the Portuguese actress Dalila do Carmo.
Some of her songs are Mozambique, Miyo na Weyo, Broken heart, Longa Estrada, etc
